Sandro Tonali takes plea deal: 10-month stop, è official
The FIGC has issued a statement making official its agreement with Newcastle midfielder Sandro Tonali, who will be disqualified for 18 months, 8 of which will be commuted to alternative prescriptions.
This is the note: "The Federal Prosecutor’s Office has reached an agreement (ex art. 126 CGS) with the footballer Sandro Tonali, as a result of which he will be sanctioned with a disqualification of 18 months, 8 of which will be commuted to alternative prescriptions, and a fine of 20,000 euros, for violation of’art.24 of the CGS, which prohibits the possibility of making bets on football events organized by FIGC, UEFA and FIFA".
"Regarding alternative prescriptions, Tonali will have to participate in a therapeutic plan of a minimum duration of 8 months and a cycle of at least 16 public meetings, to be held in Italy, over an 8-month period, at amateur sports associations, territorial federal centers, Centers for recovery from gambling addiction, and in any case according to the indications and program proposed by the FIGC".
"The Federal Prosecutor’s Office will monitor compliance with the above and, in case of violations, will take the measures within its competence, in accordance with the CGS, with termination of the’agreement and continuation of the disciplinary proceedings before the Judicial Bodies of Sports Justice".
