Frederic Vasseur takes stock of Ferrari’s performance
Maranello team principal Frederic Vasseur takes a realistic look at the next round of the Formula 1 world championship with the Sao Paulo Grand Prix at the Interlagos circuit. Here are his words reported by the’ANSA.
"We come to the last leg of this complex American trifecta: in Sao Paulo we will be engaged in the last Sprint weekend of the season, the third in the last four Grands Prix. The two most recent races, in Austin and Mexico City, saw us shine in qualifying, with two consecutive pole positions by Charles and the all-Ferrari front row last Sunday, while in the race we still proved vulnerable to the attacks of our rivals".
"We still brought home two podiums and were the team that collected the best haul of points among those fighting for second place, although the values are very close and it seems clear that closing the gap that separates us from second position (remaining at 22 points after Città of Mexico) is always very difficult”.
What we are certainly ready to guarantee in Brazil as well è the maximum effort from all of us. We expect Mercedes to be very competitive, but for our part we must continue to work on ourselves, to grow and improve in every aspect, especially in tire management and race strategy. Carlos and Charles, as well as the whole team, in Brazil as in Maranello, are very motivated: we do not want to stop until the checkered flag in Abu Dhabi".
