Cagliari, Claudio Ranieri explains the reasons for the turnaround
Ranieri and Cagliari have regained serenity and results
After a less-than-convincing start to the season, Cagliari racked up a comeback victory over Frosinone in the space of a week, qualification for the round of 16 of the Coppa Italia by beating Udinese in extra time and another league victory, against another newly promoted Rossoblù Genoa. Claudio Ranieri, in the press conference after the match won against the Grifone, explained the reasons for the positive turnaround.
"When things go wrong,” said the Roman coach, “you have two possibilities, give up or react: my boys do not give up. They are serious players, they fight for their place in the team, if they do not start from 1' they keep the right mentalityà and as subs they can be decisive".
"The important thing, for me, è to have players who believe in what they do. It's clear that everyone wants to play and I have to make choices, but fortunately we have five changes and those who come in make a difference-I am very proud of them".
Among the reasons for the good moment also a newfound offensive effectiveness: "We suffered until the end but patience, the important thing was to win. When I think that until ten days ago we were not even scoring goals with our hands, now it is definitely better".
