Fisi technical director of the women’s alpine ski team Gianluca Rulfi has released the list of summoned athletes for the double date with the Speed Opening in Zermatt/Cervinia reserved for women. Two downhill races are scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 18 and Sunday, Nov. 19 (starting both times at 11:45 a.m. with live television coverage on Rai Due and Eurosport).
Thirteen Italian athletes have been summoned: they are Federica Brignone, Marta Bassino, Elena Curtoni, Sofia Goggia, Laura Pirovano, Nadia Delago, Nicol Delago, Karoline Pichler, Roberta Melesi, Elena Dolmen, Teresa Runggaldier, Monica Zanoner and Vicky Bernardi.
There are three official practice days scheduled, from Wednesday’15 to Friday’17 November, always at the same race time. As a reminder, Italy can field up to a maximum of nine athletes per downhill, on par with Austria and Switzerland. Instead, Sara Thaler, Matilde Lorenzi (from the European Cup group) and Carlotta De Leonardis, the latter belonging to the junior group, will be the openers.
