Holger Rune says goodbye with a prediction: “The favorite remains Djokovic.”
Rune è was eliminated in the decisive match by Sinner
Defeat against Jannik Sinner prevents Holger Rune from reaching the semifinals of the ATP Finals, which will feature the South Tyrolean, Daniil Medevedev and Novak Djokovic. The fourth player will be one between Alcaraz and Zverev, depending on the results of the last day of round robin, which will see Alcaraz-Medvedev and Rublev-Zverev as the last matches of the red round.
In his post-match press conference Rune è was particularly laconic, giving rather stilted answers in front of an almost deserted room. “I did not take advantage of the break balls at my disposal”, the Dane’s dry answer to those who asked him what had gone wrong during the match.
Rune then tried to provide a’somewhat more in-depth analysis: “The times I have faced Sinner I have always lost the first set, but even today I was able to come back up. I had a lot of pressure unlike Jannik, who I knew was more free and with nothing to lose. I tried to handle it as best I could, but it wasnè t enough”.
Rune says goodbye to Turin, but still takes a stab at a prediction on the winner of the tournament: “For me the favorite is still Djokovic, it will beà nice to see the end of this tournament. For me forò now the season è is over, I have nothing more to worry about”, the N°8 of the tournament’s ending.
