Chris Smalling's adventure at Roma could officially end in the upcoming January market: according to reports from the 'BBC', in fact, the Giallorossi club would be willing to consider possible offers for the defender who has been out of action, due to injury, for almost three months (the last match played è Roma-Milan on September 1°).
Smalling's contract will expire at the end of the season and at the moment there seems to be no room for a possible extension: under current regulations, the player can sign a pre-agreement for the following season with another club, but Roma would like to avoid losing him for zero, hence the openness to a transfer already in January.
Smalling, class of 1989, è in the capital since summer 2019, coming from Manchester United: in the Giallorossi’s four seasons he è took the satisfaction of winning the 2022 Conference League, of whose final è he was also elected best player.
