Lorenzo Musetti collapses in third set: Serbia ahead, now Sinner-Djokovic

It starts off on the wrong foot in the Davis Cup semifinals for Italy, which faces Serbia. In fact, in the first match Lorenzo Musetti è was defeated in a comeback by Serbian Miomir Kecmanovic, number 55 in the world rankings, who è won with a score of 6-7 6-2 6-1 after two hours and 22 minutes of play.

Kecmanovic started off strong right away, getting the break in the opening game. In the second set the equilibrium is broken in the sixth game with Kecmanovic harpooning the break lead on the third chance with a forehand pass. The Serb repeated the break in the eighth game, bringing the sets situation back to parity.

In the third and decisive partial the inertia è in favor of a wild Kecmanovic, who flies on 4-0 in a moment, also accomplice to a Musetti, conditioned by a left flexor problem for which he asks the medical time-out. The game resumed, for the Serb è a formalityè winning the last two games on serve and bringing Serbia into the lead.

Now the hopes of the Azzurri hang on Jannik Sinner, who will face off against Novak Djokovic for the third time in ten days, after the previous two at the ATP Finals in Turin.
