Champions, Inter: Simone Inzaghi looks at the glass half full
Simone Inzaghi happy with the second half
From 0-3 to 3-3, in the Champions League evening Inter è returned "crazy": at the microphones of 'Mediaset Infinity' Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi tried to explain the reasons behind such a noticeable difference between the first and second half of the match played at home to Benfica.
"In the first half we definitely should have done more,‖ said the Piacenza coach.
I put myself into the discussion, because it was a problem of approach: Champions matches are like that, you cannot afford to go on the field and not interpret them well from the start.
One particular statistic è was the ability to shorten the gap in the first quarter of the second half, without making substitutions compared to the first half. " I know I can count on everyone, at that moment it would have been easy to think of changing four or five, the way we were playing: but the problem was not in individuals".
"At halftime, in the locker room, we talked, we made some changes at the tactical level, and above all we gathered a whole other spirit. In the second half we were fantastic and if Barella’s shot that hit the post had ended up inside we would have gotten a memprable result".
The qualification was already achieved but the first place remains disputed with Real Sociedad, opponents in the last round of the group stage: "We know very well that we cannot make a mistake with them, but first there's to think about the championship: we have Napoli and Udinese, they are games not to be missed".
