Pistoia, time agreement with Gerry Blakes: Nicola Brienza’s message
Gerry Blakes lands in Pistoia
Estra Pistoia made official on Thursday the arrival of Gerry Blakes: the 1993 class guard signed a two-month contract, time to recover the injured Jordon Varnado, whose knockout had forced the red and white management to move immediately on the market.
"I thank the club, especially the president and the general manager, for the speed with which they gave the 'green light' to Marco Sambugaro to return to the market,” Pistoia coach Nicola Brienza told company channels. Varnado got hurt on Sunday and, within a few days, we came up with a replacement who will be able to give us a hand during his absence".
"We had two profiles on which we worked,” the biancorosso coach later explained, “Both were excellent but, in the end, we opted for Gerry. First of all, becauseé I know him personally having had him with me a few years ago in Cantù, so I know what kind of guy he is and what kind of help he can’give us within the team".
"Considering that he played until a few days ago in France, we think that he can be, from the physical point of view, immediately ready to fit into our group and functional to achieve the goals we have set ourselves" he then concluded Brienza talking about the new arrival, whose employment in the next day, as specified by the club, è subject to the completion of the necessary bureaucratic practices.
