Michela Moioli has lost her words
Michela Moioli is back to savor the taste of a World Cup podium. The 28-year-old Bergamasque from the Army è second in the SBX in Les Deux Alpes, behind eternal French rival Chloe Trespeusch and ahead of Australian Belle Brockhoff. The Italian had had a good start in the final, on the track where she had set the best qualifying time in the morning. But Trespeusch mocked her in the mixed part of the track, threading her into a right-hand bend and then running away and becoming uncatchable.
This is a very important result for Michela after the back problems she suffered last season. The Olympian returns to the podium one year and nine months after her second place in March '22 in Reiteralm, and reaches the consistent figure of 39 podiums in her career. More importantly, she returns to prove she can hang with the best, in a World Cup that 's only just begun and that will still see her in the spotlight. In the women’s race, only Caterina Carpano, in addition to Moioli, had managed to make it past the qualifying cut, but the Fassawoman è stopped in the quarterfinals.
"I have no words. I had a lot of fun – said Michela Moioli at the end of the race – and it has been a long time since I had such fun. I am super happy and I want to thank all the team that made me go soì fast, my family. I’m not fully back yet but I’m much better".
