Alex Marquez takes a swipe at Honda
During a speech to "Catalunya Radio", Spanish centaur Alex Marquez bluntly analyzed his first season riding for Team Gresini’s Ducati. In addition, number 73 also dwelt on his unlucky two-year stint at Honda and his brother's arrival at Ducati.
"When you get into a negative dynamic you get to doubt yourself. I was lucky to go to a small, family team like Gresini in 2023, with a very competitive bike. Going from Honda to Ducati è like leaving a child's bike to go to a grown-up one. It's much more comfortable and allows you to be competitive right away. It gives you a lot of security and a lot more confidence" began the Spanish centaur.
"I did not influence Marc at all in coming to Ducati. He è very intelligent, he knows where he comes from. The Ducati riders all have different styles, but in the end we all managed to be fast. That gives; a lot of confidence. He asked me things and I gave him my opinion as a brother. I saw everything that è happened since 2020 and è it was very hard for him. Feeling competitive and fighting for the title brings back your self-confidence" added centaur number 73.
"I prefer not to get high expectations, becauseé I would run the risk of taking steps backward. To be in the top five, to be able to win podiums with continuityà and to start the year as we finished it would give me a solid base to face the season in the best way and with the right confidence" concluded Alex Marquez.
