No Africa Cup of Nations for M'bala Nzola. The Fiorentina striker, who was initially included in the preconvocation list of the Angola national team by technical commissioner Pedro Goncalves, will not leave for the Africa Cup of Nations''for plausible family reasons'  This was announced by the Angolan Federation itself through the publication of an official statement released on its social channels.

"Due to plausible family reasons, Angolan international Mbala Nzola è has been excused from the call-up for CAN -2023. The Fiorentina player, will be replaced by ’Atletico Petroleos of Luanda striker Deivi Miguel “Gilberto" reads the note from the Federation of Angola.

"We specify that the Black Palancas will leave for Dubai this afternoon, where they will hold a small training session to prepare for the African Championship of Nations to be held in Ivory Coast from January to February 2024".

The only Fiorentina player who will take part in the African Cup of Nations will be Ivorian Christian Kouame, who has already left to join the Ivory Coast national team.
