The famous Kuenisbaergli slope in Adelboden (Svi) awaits the protagonists of the men’s Alpine Skiing World Cup this weekend for the technical disciplines. In the Swiss resort it starts with the fourth giant slalom on Saturday, Jan. 6 (first run at 10:30 a.m., second run at 1:30 p.m. with live TV coverage on Raisport and Eurosport) in which Luca De Aliprandini, Giovani Borsotti, Filippo Della Vite, Simon Talacci, Hannes Zingerle, Alex Vinatzer and Tobias Kastlunger will take part.
The latter two will also compete in the fourth slalom on the following day (first run at 10:30 a.m., second run at 1:30 p.m. with live TV coverage on Raisport and Eurosport) alongside Simon Maurberger, Tommaso Sala, Corrado Barbera, Stefano Gross and Matteo Canins. Instead, Giuliano Razzoli will not be present.
The Italian team has a strong tradition on the Swiss slope, with nine victories between giant slalom and slalom (three with Gustavo Thoeni in giant slalom in 1973, 1974 and 1976, one with Alberto Tomba in giant slalom in 1995, one with Richard Pramotton in giant slalom in 1986, one with Piero Gros in giant slalom in 1975, one with Max Blardone in giant slalom in 2005, one with Giorgio Rocca in slalom in 2006 and one with Stefano Gross in slalom in 2015) and 25 podiums overall, the’last of which with Manfred Moelgg second in slalom in 2017, while Max Blardone was third in giant in 2012
