Jan Hörl brought Austria back after eleven years to the top step of the podium in Innsbruck by dominating the third stage of the Four Trampolines Tournée. The Austrian, after sealing the best partial in the first series of jumps, withstood the comeback of Japan’s Ryoyu Kobayashi thus going on to take the second career victory with 267.5 points.

That’s 8.8 points margin over the Japanese driver who thus took the lead in the overall Tournée standings with 4.8 lengths ahead of German Andreas Wellinger, fifth with 252.1, when the final event in Bischofshofen, which opens on Friday, January 5, with the qualifying round, is all that is missing. On the third step of the podium in Innsbruck there’è again Austria thanks to Michael Hayböck (254), with Slovenian Lovro Kos in fourth position.

Giovanni Bresadola was also able to find space in the points zone in this third stage of the Tournée thanks to 28th place (203.9), which at the end of the two series reaffirmed what he collected in the middle of the race at the end of the victorious confrontation with Kazakhstan’s Vassilyev. The 22-year-old from Val di Sole leaves the capital of Tyrol with 688.6 total points and the 20th place in the overall standings, remaining among the athletes who have taken part in all the series so far.

Gardena’s Alex Insam would also have made it through the first round in the duel with Junshiro Kobayashi, but è ran into disqualification for suit measurements. Red light instead in the first series for Francesco Cecon (45th, out against Japan’s Ren Nikaido) and Andrea Campregher, 47th and called to the improbable confrontation with Wellinger.
