Jose Mourinho glosses over his future at Roma
A timely analysis on the present and the near future, sibylline words on the more distant future in time.
José Mourinho talks about his Roma team ahead of the delicate challenge with Atalanta scheduled for Sunday evening at the Stadio Olimpico, but in the press conference he also dwells on the ongoing news among the Giallorossi. And which concern not only the players, but also the managers. Less clear, however, were the words the Lusitanian coach reserved for himself and his future in the capital.
"I don’t want to get into this field, I really don’t want to. Obviously I have asked myself some questions, but I don't have any 100% answer", said Mourinho when asked for comments on the renewal of his contract with Roma that is not coming. Evasive words also on Tiago Pinto's farewell: "Talking about a manager is not for me. I respect the hierarchies of the companyà and I cannot comment on the work of a superior".
Mourinho's most direct concerns then concern his Roma team's personnel: "We have not recovered anyone. Smalling and Abraham are out, Renato is also è injured, Mancini can ò play but has not recovered. There'è Huijsen, one of the greatest promises of European soccer among players of his age. But he has 10 minutes of Serie A behind him, and against us will be Atalanta. A very good team that has everything, quality, experience, options and a coach who è been with them for so many years. And who has always brought the same philosophy of play and a lot of empathy. They play with their eyes closed, and for us to face them will always be complicated".
