A true triumph in front of the home crowd.

Marco Odermatt won the Adelboden Giant Slalom after a dominant run already from the first run. The Swiss, in front of the audience of his compatriots, è been stronger than the fog that è fell on the slope called Chuenisbärgli (and even shortened due to the complex weather conditions) and routed the competition. Distant in fact over a second from his most direct pursuer (Norway’s Aleksander Aamodt Kilde, at +1.26). Third the Croatian Filip Zubcic at 1.77, eighth the first of the Italians: è Luca De Aliprandini, detached by 2.12.

Odermatt, moreover, put in the win already in the first run, being able to afford to control the gap from his opponents in the second run. No hope for Zubcic, even worse goes to Austrians Manuel Feller and Stefan Brennesteiner who collapsed in the second run. Staying on blue skiing, Alex Vinatzer è 11th, 22° instead Giovanni Borsotti.

In the overall standings Odermatt moves up to 400 points in the specialty cup; and already seems to have booked his third consecutive Crystal Ball. The first chaser è in fact Zubcic, stopped at 240. But the Swiss also dominates the overall standings, thanks to his 736 points that represent a +272 lead over Marco Schwarz. Who, moreover, has already finished his own season.
