Andrea Vötter and Marion Oberhofer don’t get off the World Cup podium: after third places in Lake Placid and Whistler, the Italian women gave themselves a resplendent second place in the World Cup event in Winterberg, going on to undermine hosts Jessica Degenhardt and Cheyenne Rosenthal, winners with an overall time of 1’27″131.

In the lead after the first run, the Germans confirmed their lead at the end of the second downhill on the home gut, however, seeing the margin over the Italian women close to 24 thousandths of a second in the final.

The two South Tyrolean women were able to put up the second fastest time in the first heat and third overall in the second, with the Austrians Egle / Kipp completing the podium with an overall delay of 0″44 from the race leader. Their comeback knocked the other Germans Eitberger / Schirmer off the podium, with the two U.S. teams Forgan / Kirkby and Chan / Weiler in fifth and sixth place.
