Lega Serie A, the regulations

Inter, Napoli, Fiorentina and Lazio are preparing for the Final Four of the Italian Super Cup in Saudi Arabia. An important novelty concerns the regulations regarding cards, cautions and disqualifications. Now, every player will haveà the right to participate in the Super Cup, even if è he has been cautioned in the league, and will not be disqualified even if he receives a warning on the 20th day of the championship.

However, yellow or red cards received during the Final Four will have an impact on the Serie A. This represents a significant change from the past, where cards received in the league affected the player’s presence in the Super Cup.

For the 2024 edition, if a cautioned player receives a warning on the 20th day, he will not be disqualified for the Super Cup but will miss the next match in Serie A. If the same cautioned player is cautioned during the Super Cup semifinals, he will not be disqualified for the final, but will still miss the next day in the league. This change represents a major change in the rules of the competition.

Several players are currently cautioned: for Inter, Barella and Calhanoglu; for Laizo Cataldi, Immobile, Pellegrini, Rovella, Zaccagni; for Fiorentina Biraghi, Bonaventura, Ikoné and finally for Napoli Cajuste, Di Lorenzo, Juan Jesus, Kvaratskhelia, Mario Rui, Mazzocchi.
