Milan, new stadium in San Donato: first green light soon
Plans for Milan’s new stadium in San Donato are advancing. Within ten days or so, ANSA reports, the council of the Milan hinterland municipality will give the go-ahead to the proposed zoning variant submitted last Sept. 27 by SportLifeCity s.r.l., a company controlled by the Rossoneri club. The junta will takeà note of the technical feasibility of the project and putà some constraints: in fact it will beà a first green light to the construction of the plant.
The documents have been analyzed by the municipality over the past three months, and a number of critical issues have emerged, mainly related to infrastructure, roadways and environmental offsets in the San Francesco area, the one identified by Milan in San Donato.
"We will now approve this resolution in the junta, then there will be a passage in the City Council. In the meantime, we will open a participatory path with citizens to inform the community and grasp their instances on the project", are the words to ANSA of San Donato Public Works Councillor Massimiliano Mistretta.
Mayors of neighboring municipalities have also been contacted with the goal of making the 70,000-seat stadium "an opportunity for revitalization not only for San Donato but for the whole area". The remarks made by the municipality will have to be met by Milan, which will have to provide, at this juncture, additions to the project.
