Goodbye to Salvatore Mazzarano
Due to a very serious illness, with which he had been battling for some time, Salvatore Mazzarano è passed away. He was 58 and a native of Massafra, a town in the province of Taranto.
A defender who grew up in his hometown team, he had touched the highest point of his career at Ancona.
With the Doric team, after two seasons in the cadet division, he had reached Serie A, in which he played in the 1992-93 season.
After the Marche interlude è he returned to Puglia, to Taranto, then to Castrovillari, in Calabria, to end his career in his home region, at Fasano.
Mazzarano’s funeral will be held Friday in Massafra, in the church of St. Leopold Mandic.
