Jannik Sinner words ahead of his Australian Open debut

.

With only a few days to go before his debut at the Australian Open, the world No. 4 on Media Day was blunt about his feelings and his state of fitness ahead of the start of the first slam of the season, which will see him engaged in the first round against Dutchman Botic van de Zandschulp in the tournament’s opening match.

"I feel ready to do well in Melbourne. I came here quite early. It's a nice time of year because it&#39s summer and the weather's nice and warm. I had a chance to play a couple of matches at the Kooyong Classic. Every day I have more and more feeling with the court and I hope to be ready for Sunday's debut on Sunday,&#quot; debuted the South Tyrolean.

"Last year the season è ended very late, after the Davis Cup I had only one week off before starting preparation, I wanted to start the off-season as early as possible, it was important for me and for my body. We tried to figure out this year if getting to the Australian Open without playing official matches first can be an option for the next few years as well. We will have our answers on Sunday, but I feel very confident. I feel ready to show good tennis" continued the student of Simone Vagnozzi.

"The goal è to stay in the present. I am here to play good tennis and è it is difficult to predict how the season will go. I played very well in the final part of 2023. I still have that confidence, but every tournament and every season is different. I think the mental aspect is a key aspect in the world of sports, because winning shows the progress you are making as a player. I lost six times in a row to Medvedev, but I realized that I could beat him if I played at a certain level. You always have to believe in yourself, I think that’s the most important thing for a tennis player" Jannik Sinner chipped in.
