Cagliari-Bologna 2-1

Cagliari grasps its fourth success in 20 league days by beating Bologna 2-1: the three points come in a comeback, as happened on October 29 against Frosinone (from 0-3 to 4-3) and on December 11 against Sassuolo (from 0-1 to 2-1). For the Emilians è however, the confirmation of a difficult period: after the success against Atalanta è came only one point in the next three league games.

At the Unipol Domus, despite the thrust of the Cagliari fans, è however, Bologna got off to a better start: the offensive pressure of Thiago Motta’s men bore fruit on 24' when Orsolini sprinted down the flank reaching the back of the field, prevented the ball from going out while jumping over the direct opponent and deposited behind Scuffet for 0-1 on the scoreboard.

The opponent’s goal è like a bucket of icy water that suddenly wakes up Cagliari and the equalizer doesn’t even take too long to arrive: Dossena’s throw for Andrea Petagna, the home team’s striker wins the contrast with Calafiori and beats Skorupski: è 1-1, the score with which the two teams will go to halftime.

Minute after minute, Claudio Ranieri’s team gains confidence and around the half of the second half completes the comeback: è minute 69, in fact, when Wieteska collects the ball on the development of a corner and puts it in the middle, Calafiori touches it with his shin and directs it despite himself towards the side of the goal on which Skorupski cannot; intervene.

Strengthened by 2-1, Cagliari retreats its center of gravity and basically thinks about defending, while on the other side Bologna can find no more space. Not even five minutes of recovery are enough to change the fate of the match: Cagliari wins and gets out of the relegation zone, Bologna after a great month of December confirms that it is a bit in trouble, while remaining close to the Europa zone.
