Danilo Gallinari, farewell Washington: moves to Detroit Pistons
Another franchise change for one of the Italians with the mostù longest experience overseas.
Danilo Gallinari is moving to the Detroit Pistons. The decision è official, with the Washington Wizards finalizing a complex transaction on Sunday that also sends Mike Muscala to Michigan. In return in the U.S. capital come Marvin Bagley, Isaiah Livers and the future possibility of winning two second-round picks. But for former Olimpia Milano, the travels may not end there.
Detroit currently has a very unenviable record: that of the NBA's most losing franchise of the season. This could lead the Pistons to embark on a massive enrichment of their roster, with the possibility of a buyout even being involved for Gallinari. And Muscala himself è called at risk of release.
Gallinari, who in the NBA è arrived back in 2008 to wear the colors of the New York Knicks, later played for Denver Nuggets, Los Angeles Clippers, Oklahoma Thunder and Atlanta Hawks. His experience with the Boston Celtics ended instead without official games, due to the long stop caused by the rupture of his left anterior cruciate ligament.
