Lazio, Champions blow with Felipe Anderson: Lecce knocked out at the Olimpico

Lazio beats Lecce 1-0 on the 20th day of Serie A 2023-24, reminding all rivals for the Champions League race not to let up: Maurizio Sarri’s men, winning against the Salentini, extend to four the series of consecutive victories in the league, which become five counting also the success in the derby of Coppa Italia.

The match is not è however, simple in terms of interpretation, for the biancocelesti, also becauseé in the first half è Lecce to be preferred and to go a couple of times even close to the lead, with Provedel careful to avoid trouble. Also noteworthy in the first half was Patric's injury, replaced by Alessio Romagnoli.

The decisive goal arrived in the first phase of the second half, more precisely in minute 58: Rovella set up an offensive plot that passed through the feet of Luis Alberto and arrived to those of Felipe Anderson, who had time to aim at the goal of Falcone’s rump and overcome with a precise conclusion the same Giallorossi extreme defender.

Lecce does not give up and at 67' goes very close to equalizing: Krstovic’s shot from an advantageous position ends però to the side. The entry of Blin, Strefezza, Dorgu and Piccoli (in place of Kaba, Gonzalez, Gallo and Oudin, respectively) was not enough to trouble the Biancocelesti, who meanwhile found Immobile again after three games of absence: it ended 1-0 for the Biancocelesti, who thus continued their comeback in the standings.
