Lisa Vittozzi exults in Ruhpolding and explains the key to success

Biathlon Italy rejoices in Lisa Vittozzi’s great success on the German snows of Ruhpolding, host of this weekend’s World Cup. The Carabinieri Sports Group athlete è won the pursuit race, beating by seven tenths the Norwegian Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold and by nine seconds Juni Arnekleiv, another representative of Norway.
"Last year I won here in the 15km and I wanted to repeat myself,” Lisa Vittozzi told official Fisi channels on the sidelines of the race. “It's incredible, really great. Today I had the power and strength in the final lap to do something important. In the final polygon I kept calm and in the final lap I knew I could play my cards best in the sprint: I was convinced and had clear in my mind the plan to follow".
French Lou Jeanmonnot finished fourth, while Swiss Lena Hacki Gross finished fifth. As for the Italians, thirty-eighth place for Samuela Comola, who climbed 16 places from the sprint thanks to a very good performance in the shot (0-1-0-0), while Michela Carrara è ran into 9 errors dropping to 54th place (3-2-2), with Beatrice Trabucchi 57th (2-0-1-0).
Thanks to the win in Ruhpolding, Lisa Vittozzi climbs to third place in the overall World Cup standings with 606 points, behind Tandrevold (666) and France’s Justine Braisaz Bouchet (657), who was seventh today. For the Sappadine è the fifth individual World Cup victory, the second this season after the one in the individual in Ostersund.
