Australian Open, not just Sinner: Musetti and Cobolli smile

Not only Sinner starred at the Australian Open, the first Slam of the season. Kudos to Musetti and Cobolli, both winners in their Melbourne debut. Carrarese good. The No. 25 seed in the men’s draw, Musetti è imposed himself on Frenchman Bonzi in four sets (7-6, 7-6, 4-6, 6-2 the partials), at the end of a match that lasted three hours and 34 minutes of play.

For Musetti, excellent reaction especially after losing the third set. Confirmation of a decidedly encouraging physical and mental condition. For the Carrarese, this is the first victory, ever, in Melbourne where, before today, he had always disappointed. In the second round he will face the winner of the challenge between host Duckworth and Frenchman van Assche.

The 21-year-old Italian brought home a prestigious victory over Jarry (No. 18 seed), who was beaten at the end of a marathon five sets: 6-4, 3-6, 6-3, 6-2, 7-5 the match’s partials (in the deciding set he recovered from 3-5). For Cobolli this is the first victory in a Slam event. In the next match he will face Russian Kutov.
