Elisabetta quickly took the lead in the match and won the first set 6-1 in convincing fashion. In the second set, although the Swiss put up a fight, Elisabetta maintained control and eventually closed out the match with a score of 6-1, 7-5 in one hour and 12 minutes, earning passage to the second round in Melbourne for the first time.
Giulio Zeppieri also looked good, snatching the first set from Dusan Lajovic with a score of 6-3. In the second set, Lajovic è managed to get a break and pull ahead. But Zeppieri fought back strongly in the third set, using his powerful serve and heavy forehand to take the lead in the match. The fourth set è was decisive, and Zeppieri è managed to close out the match in a tie-break, winning 6-3, 3-6, 6-3, 7-6 after 2 hours and 26 minutes. This victory made Zeppieri the fourth Italian to qualify for the second round of the Australian Open.
Martina Trevisan also contributed to the Italian success, earning a comeback victory over Renata Zarazua. This brought the total of Italians in the second round of the Happy Slam to 8, a significant achievement in the history of the tournament.
