Maurizio Bormolini happy and aware after success in Bad Gastein
Maurizio Bormolini exults after success in Bad Gastein parallel slalom
Snowboarding Italy rejoices thanks to Maurizio Bormolini, who was able to win the World Cup parallel slalom held in Bad Gastein on Tuesday, confirming his success in the same event last year on German snows, on which he is evidently enormously comfortable. Bormolini beat German Arvin Auner in the final.
"It’ is a special place for me – Bormolini told the official Fisi channels, on the sidelines of the event -. This track feels really mine and itè is no coincidence if here I have collected the best results of my career: I won the last two editions, I am really excited and gassed. Having already achieved a victory in the season in both giant and slalom, I feel beyond satisfied, also for the excellent setup achieved with board and boots".
Two other Azzurri managed to reach the quarterfinals, both in the lower part of the scoreboard, with Edwin Coratti (fifth place) beaten by Benjamin Carl and Daniele Bagozza (sixth) beaten by Auner himself. Eliminated in the first round, however, was Aaron March (13th) in the opening duel with Obmann.
Italian satisfaction, again in Bad Gastein, also in the women’s sphere thanks to Jasmin Coratti, who, three days after the all-Italian final lost to Lucia Dalmasso in Scuol, took another podium by winning the small final (the race for third place) against Swiss snowboarder Julie Zogg.
