Sebastian Baez warns Jannik Sinner
The words of Sebastian Baez
Jannik Sinner's next opponent in the third round of the Australian Open will be Argentina's Sebastian Baez, number 29 in the ATP rankings. The two have only faced each other on one occasion: in the round of 16 of the Shanghai Master 1000 2023, and it was the Italian who won in a comeback with a score of 3-6 6-3 6-2.
Baez has already faced two Top 10s in majors on hard courts. "I learned a lot from these guys, from Tsitsipas and Medvedev. I also played with Rublev. I always learn a lot,‖ he stressed to the official ATP channels. È it is better to play against these top guys and not just in training. È more difficult in matches, so these experiences have helped me a lot and I hope it will be the same against Jannik".
"È my third year on the Tour. The experience of getting to know the tournament, the guys and everything else makes me grow. I take note of that and I just try to improve day by day and compete with the best players" added the South American tennis player who will play against Sinner on the Margaret Court Arena no earlier than 2 a.m. Italian time.
"I hope all people will watch my match and say, 'È a fighter'. It's not important a moment, a point, a game, a set. I want people to think that I am always a fighter and that I will try to do everything I can in that moment" Baez closed.
