Alberto Cerri leaves Como and settles at all'Empoli

The news had been in the air for a few days but only on Friday it acquired the chrisms of officialdom: after two and a half seasons at Como, Alberto Cerri is packing his bags and moving to Empoli, going to reinforce the offensive department of the Tuscans, who with the 1996 class hope to improve a rather deficient goal average (just 11 goals in the first 20 days of Serie A 2023/24).

Cerri arrives at Empoli on loan, with the possibility of staying even after the end of the season, as confirmed by the note released by the Tuscan club: "Empoli Football Club – we read – communicates that it has reached an agreement with Como 1907 for the temporary acquisition with right and obligation of redemption at the occurrence of certain conditions of the sports performance of the player Alberto Cerri".

A footballer who blossomed relatively early (he made his debut in A, with the Parma shirt, in the 2012/13 season, not yet of age), Cerri played in Serie B with the shirts of Lanciano, Cagliari, Spal, Perugia and Como, while in A he played with Pescara and again Cagliari and Spal. His last appearance in the top league was in 2020/21.

Cerri’s best season, from the point of view of scoring, è was 2017/18, with the Perugia shirt: 19 goals scored in 37 games, between Serie B championship and Coppa Italia. At Como, however, è scored a total of 20 times in two and a half seasons, with 9 assists, in 68 appearances.
