Australian Open, Novak Djokovic makes no mistake: he’s in the semifinals
The Serb one step away from yet another final in Melbourne
Infinite Djokovic. The Serb disposed of Fritz and won a pass for a place in the Australian Open semifinals. Djokovic è won the match in four sets (7-6, 4-6, 6-2, 6-3), in three hours and 48' of play. Fritz gave the Serbian outfielder a hard time in the first two sets, deservedly winning the second partial, playing excellent tennis. Then, Djokovic took command of operations and the match had no more history. Decisive were the two consecutive breaks in the fourth set in Djokovic’s favor.
"I suffered a lot in the first two sets. He has great quality; he served well. He was smothering me with the ground game. I was almost always on defense and it was very hot. Physically an intense match. I served very well, in this kind of match è important to serve well", the Serb’s words in the post match, interviewed by Kyrgios.
Thus continues the journey in Melbourne of the winner of 24 Slam tests, including as many as 10 Australian Open (the last one last year). The Serb’s physical and mental condition appears excellent, as does his determination to get, once again, to play in a Slam final.
