Marco Odermatt wins again: what a comeback in Schladming
Marco Odermatt takes his fifth consecutive World Cup victory on the slopes of Schladming, where he wins the Giant Slalom thanks to a stunning comeback after finishing 11th in the first run. The Swiss, who made up almost a second, triumphed with a time of 2’10″03, ahead of Manuel Feller, just 5 hundredths behind, and Zan Kranjec.
Good performance by the Italians, with Filippo Della Vite finishing eighth: "A beautiful giant. The eighth place gives me great confidence and great morale. I started off still making mistakes, but then when I got to the finish line and saw that I was third behind Odermatt, I said ‘Good’. In fact Odermatt won. I think the team is growing and surely we can do even better in the next races".
Thirteenth place for Hannes Zingerle, who recovered six positions from the first leg: "I am very satisfied. I love this track and this atmosphere. We must continue with this pace and grow all together".
Alex Vinatzer finished in 18th place: "“I went on the’attack right away and I made a mistake on the fifth to sixth gate and I said to myself ‘I can’t make a mistake like that. Then I went fast again, but I made another mistake. A good test but I will attackò more at the next".
