Rafael Nadal has decided when to return to the court
Rafael Nadal, 37, has a date to return to official competition. The Spaniard is on the entry list for the Doha Open 250, scheduled for Feb. 19-24, 43 days after announcing on social media that he will not be able to play the Australian Open, following a successful comeback in the Brisbane tournament.
Thus, the recovery from the micro muscle tear that deprived him of the first Slam of the season continues positively. Nadal, current world No. 446, will participate thanks to the protected ranking that places him ninth.
Nadal was already supposed to compete at the Qatar event in 2023, but he forfeited due to an injury to the ileopsoas in his left leg, which subsequently caused him to miss the entire season.
Already the winner of the Qatari tournament in 2014, the Mallorcan will share the court with other big names such as Russians Daniil Medvedev, Andrey Rublev and Karen Khachanov, but also with Italians Lorenzo Musetti and Lorenzo Sonego.
