Australian Open: Qinwen Zheng joins Aryna Sabalenka in the final

Qinwen Zheng è the second Australian Open finalist after Aryna Sabalenka. The Chinese tennis player, in fact, beat qualifier Dayana Yastremska, number 93 in the WTA rankings, with a double 6-4 after an hour and 42 minutes of play in the second semifinal of the Australian Slam, hitting her first final in a Grand Slam tournament. 

Tension dominated at the start: Yastremska immediately went ahead (2-0) but was immediately caught up by Zheng (2-2). In the seventh game the Chinese got another break, which she kept until the final 6-4. In the second partial the roles are reversed: Zheng flies to 2-0 but the Ukrainian ties it at 2-2. The seventh game forò è is still the decisive one, with the Chinese player scratching out the break and storming to victory, which earned her the final.

"It’ just incredible! I am very pleased with how I played today and super proud to be in the final here for the first time" commented at the end of the match Zheng, who in the final will find Aryna Sabalenka, who overcame Gauff in two sets (7-6 6-4) in the other semifinal.
