Juventus, anger and braking: 1-1 home draw with Empoli
A contested draw by both teams on the field, and one that canò weigh heavily in the standings.
Juventus held back by Empoli in the home match at Allianz Stadium, which ended with a 1-1 result not without controversy. In fact, the Bianconeri found themselves in numerical inferiority since the 18th for a direct red received by Milik and decided by Var. In the second half the goals, by Vlahovic and Baldanzi. Then the final whistle, which came moments after a possible bungling of Szczesny with the ball. Cold numbers in hand, however, the Bianconeri now have a 2-point lead over an Inter side that has played two fewer games.
After the first chances signed Vlahovic and Cambiaso, the game changed as mentioned on 18': Milik missed a control and intervened harshly on Cerri who had stolen the ball from him. Marinelli’s decision is però reviewed by Var, who changes the color of the card: from yellow to red. Juventus takes the blow: twice Cambiaghi engages Szczesny, with Empoli creating more danger than the hosts throughout the first half.
The inertia seemed to change at the start of the second half, with Cambiaso earning a corner and Vlahovic exploiting it in the best possible way by signing the Bianconeri lead at the 50th minute with a raptor-like deflection on a dirty ball. Empoli però did not let themselves be demoralized: a first time Alex Sandro anticipated Baldanzi preventing him from hurting, then Cancellieri was found slightly late on Cambiaghi’s service. The goal è in the air and Baldanzi found it at 70'on an assist from Luperto. Fiery finale: Locatelli on one side and Cambiaghi on the other look for the goal, Juventus protests over a possible penalty and in the final it is the guests who complain about the triple whistle that came on a potential chance due to Szczesny’s levity.
