Camila Giorgi’s journey at the WTA 500 in Linz comes to an immediate halt. The tennis player from Marche, in fact, was è made up by the Danish Clara Tauson, number 91 in the WTA ranking, who è imposed herself with the score of 3-6 6-3 6-3 after two hours and five minutes of play, in the first round match of the Austrian tournament.

Camila è started well, taking the break lead in the sixth game of the first set, which she kept until the final 6-3. However, in the second set, an empty passage of the azurra in the eighth game è cost her the partial, won by Tauson with the same score. In the third and decisive set, Giorgi è went immediately down by a break (1-2) but reacted immediately (3-2). From that moment forò the Dane did not make any more mistakes, while Camila è dropped, especially on serve, surrendering 3-6.

Tauson will face the number 1 seed, Jelena Ostapenko, in the round of 16. Instead, the tricolor derby with Lucrezia Stefanini goes to Elisabetta Cocciaretto: a match without history, won by the 23-year-old from Ancona with the score of 6-2 6-0 after one hour and twenty-one minutes of play. In the next round Cocciaretto will face the winner of the challenge between Sara Errani and Anastasia Potapova.
