Udinese, complaint against closed-door round partially upheld
No closed-door round, but Curva Nord of the Bluenergy Stadium without fans for two days: è this is the new ruling regarding the events of last Jan. 20, when during Udinese-Milan of the championship some of those present had directed racist insults at Mike Maignan, goalkeeper of the Rossoneri. Confirming the remodeling of the sentence, on Wednesday, è the FIGC.
"The First Section of the Corte Sportiva d’Appello Nazionale – can be read on the official channels of the Federcalcio -, presided over by Carmine Volpe, has partially upheld Udinese Calcio’s complaint against the sanction of the’obligation to play one match behind closed doors and, in partial reform of the contested decision, has redetermined the sanction in the’obligation to play two matches with the Curva Nord sector devoid of spectators".
"The Friulian club had been sanctioned in connection with the match with AC Milan last January 20 – valid for the second day of the return leg of the Serie A championship – with regard to manifestations of racial discrimination by some of its supporters against the Rossoneri goalkeeper Mike Maignan" concludes the note, retracing what happened.
Two, therefore, are the matches affected by the new ruling: they are Udinese-Monza, scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 3, and Udinese-Cagliari, scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 18.
