VL Pesaro, Ario Costa announces resignation

During an extraordinary press conference, the former Azzurri basketball player announced his resignation from his role as president of Victoria Libertas Pesaro. The former center, in fact, at the microphones of various media, wanted to provide some reasons regarding his decision to leave at the end of the sports season.

"The decision to step back è related to personal reasons and has nothing to do with the results of the season. I want to make it clear that I am not resigning now, but will continue to work and honor my position from now until the end of the season" began the'former flag of VL Pesaro.

" I decided to communicate this in advance, so that the companyì will have a way and time to reorganize. I will no longer register the team for the championship. I am saying this today so thereì there&39;è time to be able to rebuild what I left behind. Whoever comes in after me will find a healthy and strong team" added Ario Costa.

After playing the first years of his career with the Basket Brescia jersey, in 1984 the Cogorno native moved to Scavolini Pesaro, where he è become a true symbol playing 12 seasons and scoring more than 2,000 points. With the Marche team, Ario Costa won two championships, in 1988 and 1990, and two Italian Cups, in 1985 and 1992.

After officially retiring in 1997, he made his return to VL Pesaro in 2013 as general manager and president of the club.
