Gianmarco Pozzecco reveals a backstory on Gigi Datome and Nicolo Melli

Poz tells how he assigned the role of captain

Gianmarco Pozzecco, speaking with ‘La Gazzetta dello Sport,’ addressed among other things the assignment of the role of captain, admitting a small difficulty and revealing a backstory.

“I wanted Melli to be captain,” the national basketball coach said, “Nic replied that the ranks belong to Gigi Datome, and Gigi himself got a little resentful as well. I took a double rebound from both of them but I’m happy because I understood how much each one cares about the other even while respecting the roles.”

“Datome is a concentrate of positivity inside and out,” added the Poz. “A great soul with whom I feel in great harmony. A glance is enough for us to understand each other on the fly.”
