A point for Monza and Hellas Verona
Monza-Hellas Verona 0-0
0-0 between Monza and Hellas Verona. The match starts on a high pace, with the gialloblù trying to take the initiative – and Darko Lazovic has a good chance right away – while the biancorossi see a goal by Lorenzo Colombo, preferred by home coach Raffaele Palladino to the’ex-Scaligero Milan Djuric, cancelled for offside.
Montipò, on 20’, makes a half-miracle on Birindelli’s header, Colpani, with a sforbiciata, fails to rebound on goal. The same Colpani, shortly after, shoots wide from a good position. The match remains enjoyable but both teams struggle to create chances although Andrea Carboni takes the chestnuts out of the fire on a couple of occasions. The biggest chance there is Zerbin, who does not take advantage of a great indecision of Montipò and so we go to rest with untouched goals.
We restart with a novelty among the guests: the impalpable Noslin gives way to Vinagre. First skirmishes: Tchatchoua gives Monza a corner, Carboni’s header misses the goal, imitated shortly by Cabal on the other side. Two more changes in Hellas (Bonazzoli and Centonze, who immediately gets cautioned, for Swiderski and Tchatchoua) just before a yellow for Bondo as well. At 62’ came a double change for Monza as well, with Djuric and Valentin Carboni taking over for Colombo and Dany Mota.
Massa concedes a surreal penalty to Monza and in fact, called back by VAR, takes five seconds to change his mind before Palladino puts in Kyriakopoulos and Gagliardini for Zerbin and Bondo. Colpani goes on his own, but kicks out, while errors increase on either side. Andrea Carboni tries again on the developments of a corner, but without luck. It ends like this.
