Michela Moioli rejoices: wins in World Cup after two years

A world victory after much anticipation, achieved in a way that was as rocambolic as it was exciting.

Michela Moioli wins in the snowboardcross World Cup, and she does so almost two years after the last time. The Italian rider è in fact won in Sierra Nevada, achieving success number 18 of her career in the top international circuit at the individual level. The last exploit had in fact come in Cortina in 2022. Since then, a period had begun for her in which personal disappointments were not lacking.

Michela Moioli è instead managed to prevail in Sierra Nevada thanks to a convincing and determined test, but also by virtù of a decisive episode. In the final comes in fact a contact between Charlotte Bankes and Chloe Trespeuch, which favors the Lombard woman able to impose herself in extremis on the finish line. Behind her came Australian Josie Baff, third the very disappointed Bankes.

Less joy for Italy came from the men's event. In fact, Lorenzo Sommariva was eliminated in the quarterfinals, Tommaso Leoni in the round of 16, and the various Omar Visintin, Matteo Menconi, Matteo Rezzoli, Michele Godino, Niccolò Colturi and Luca Abbati in the round of 16. To win è then Frenchman Merlin Surget, beating the Cup leader: the Canadian Eliot Grondin. Third was the Austrian Jakob Dusek.
