Moto3 show in Qatar: David Alonso wins, Riccardo Rossi is 4th

The first victory of the year comes in a grand final stroke.

David Alonso è the first winner of 2024 as far as Moto3 is concerned. For him, the Grand Prix of Qatar ends with a great feat: a recovery from the sixth to the first position, won against Holgado and Furusato. First Italian è Riccardo Rossi, who finishes in fourth place. In sixth place, however, was Stefano Nepa.

Moto3 lives its decisive stages in the last meters: with two laps to go there'è Holgado in front of everyone, with Alonso, Fernandez, Furusato, Rossi and Nepa chasing him after several exchanges of position since the beginning of the race in that of Lusail. Everything is then accomplished on the final lap: Holgado and Alonso go on the attack, but the latter prevails. Rossi also tries everything and dreams of third position, but nothing can; when Furusato answers him and claws the podium.

Of note was Farioli’s crash after losing the rear and being hit by Bertelle who was in his path. On the other hand, Carraro (14°) and Lunetta (15°) arrive in the points, while among the day's comebacks is that of Ortola: forced to climb from the rear after Rueda's mistake, in the end for him there's ninth place.
