Ben Shelton tries to put fear into Jannik Sinner
Ben Shelton will be Jannik Sinner’s next opponent in the round of 16 at Indian Wells. There are two previous matches between the U.S. and the South Tyrolean and they both date back to last October: in the first case, Shelton won in three sets, in the round of 16 of the Shanghai Masters 1000, while in the last match, Sinner triumphed, taking his revenge in the first round of the ATP 500 in Vienna, which the Italian won.
After his three-set victory over Argentina's Francisco Cerundolo, the 21-year-old American spoke this way at a press conference ahead of his challenge with the world number three: "I think it's one of those matches where you know it's going to be a physical war. You know how è physical, the way he plays. How è aggressive. È just one of those matches where you know you’re going to have to play aggressively, take your risks and be confident on the court".
" I have two matches against him. Both on hard courts last year. I can't wait to play. The way he has been playing lately. I am sure there will be a great crowd. These are the matches I live for" chipped in Shelton, who will challenge Sinner on Tuesday.
