A derby worth so much

Countdown to the hunt for the 2024 Champions League final. On Wednesday, March 13 (8:30 p.m.), Cucine Lube Civitanova will be on stage at the “ilT quotidiano Arena” in Trento facing Trentino Itas for the semifinal first leg of the top continental club championship.

In just over a week (return Thursday, March 21, 8:30 p.m., at the’Eurosuole Forum) the two rivals will play for access to the showdown for the throne of Europe. Two are the Champions League won by the red and white (2002 and 2019), three the ones raised to the sky by the gialloblù (2009, 2010 and 2011).

"The key will be to erase the last two league games and return the authoritative team that played a great Champions with its certainty and hunger for victory. We will try to do our best with the advantage that in the rotations we won’t have to force the fits between Italians and foreigners as in SuperLega" said Alex Nikolov, Cucine Lube Civitanova setter.

"We will visit the Italian champions to face a group of great quality". The more we move forward, the more difficult it gets. We want to quickly reset what happened in the first matches of the Play Offs in order to be ready for the challenge with Trento, a rival with whom sometimes we have won and others we have lost while managing to express our volleyball. I am sure that it will be a sporting battle and I hope very much that Lube will come out on top. We are playing for the’access to the Final of the most coveted club tournament, so the’intention è to give everything in Trentino" added the Bulgarian.
