It will beà Cosenza to host the first match of the women national team in the Euro 2025 qualifiers, the match with the Netherlands scheduled for April 5, which will be followed by the one on April 9 with Finland in Helsinki.
The Azzurri last played in the Calabrian city 28 years ago, in 1996, when they won 2-1 over England, also in a European Championship qualifying match. In the 'San Vito' stadium, the men's national team (1967) and the Under-21 team (1985 and 1988) have also played.
In the last European Championships, played in July 2022, the national team then led by Milena Bertolini ranked last in the group, drawing the second match against Iceland 1-1 and being defeated by France 5-1 and Belgium 1-0.
The next continental review will be held in July next year in Switzerland, and in the qualifying round Andrea Soncin’s Italian women will play not only against Holland and Finland but also Norway.
