Lisa Vittozzi wins again and mortgages World Cup
Lisa Vittozzi signs the second victory in a row in the grand finale of Canmore, the result of a race studied at the table, based on a precise strategy: destroy the opponents thanks to the advantage accumulated in the sprint and a stratospheric precision in the shot. And soì è went the’last seasonal pursuit.
Vittozzi, aware of the chronometric advantage and her shooting accuracy, è let herself be caught up time after time by the different opponents who tried to beat her, but each time she humiliated them and pulled away at each round of shooting. And while the opponents were throwing blood to try to overtake her, and making mistake after mistake, Lisa proceeded impassively, fast and precise, to her final success. Not even the’single mistake, just a speck to sully the Sappadine’s statistics, was enough for her opponents to overtake her.
By now è Lisa is the winner of the Pursuit Cup, the second cup of the season, after the one already won in the Individual. By now è Lisa to wear the yellow bib as leader of the overall classifca with 61 points ahead of her most direct opponent, that Ingrid Tandrevold also collapsed today to 19th place. The overall cup è a step away for the blue.
Soì, Lisa Vittozzi closes another race-masterpiece with a time of 28’15″9 and only one mistake, at the least important moment, preceding four French: Jeanmonnot at 12″2, Braisaz-Bouchet at 19″4, Simon at 1’03″2 and Guigonnat at 1’07″6. Sweep away.
"It’ wonderful – said Vittozzi to the official FISI channels -, I controlled the pressure in the best way and I am very happy with how I managed it. I didn’t want to push at the beginning, but let the opponents vent, let them do their race. I meanwhile was doing my own. And I am really satisfied with how è it went. I am really happy and I am looking forward to competing tomorrow".
Also good was Beatrice Trabucchi, 13th with an error and 1’24″1 disadvantage from her teammate. Michela Carrara è 33rd, with 3 errors and 2’58″2 disadvantage, Samuela Comola è 35th with 5 errors and a delay of 3’05″8, while è 42nd Rebecca Passler with 3 errors and 3’52″9. 57th Hannah Auchentaller with 6 errors and more than 6 minutes gap.
Now the whole season will beà condensed in the final mass start, which promises to be more like a catwalk for Lisa Vittozzi, to whom it will be enough toà do a race in line with her very high potentialsà to bring home the overall Cup, without much difficulty. Too easy Lisa!
