F1, Ferrari: set Carlos Sainz’s medical test in Australia
Carlos Sainz wants to climb back into Ferrari in Australia
Forced to leave the steering wheel of the Ferrari to Ollie Bearman in Jeddah, due to an appendectomy that became necessary just before the Saudi Arabian GP, Carlos Sainz è ready to get back into the Red in Australia but there's still one last hurdle: the FIA medical assessment test, which will be carried out on Thursday.
Sainz è already in Melbourne and è confident he will be able to pass the exams, which are imposed by the regulations when returning from illness or an accident that caused his absence from previous GPs, in order to climb back into a Formula 1 car. It is, specifically, a series of tests to be carried out in the medical facilities of the circuit, in the presence of a delegate of the FIA.
Only when the tests are completed, therefore, will it be known who will drive the Ferrari in Australia besides Charles Leclerc. In this sense, a reconfirmation for Ollie Bearman, who for now is among the entries for the Formula 2 race to be run again at Albert Park this weekend and who in Saudi Arabia has performed well, finishing seventh in his absolute F1 debut.
Sainz però è determined to pick up where he left off in Bahrain, where he finished third ahead of Charles Leclerc. The Spanish driver è looking for important results not only to honor his commitment to ferrari in the best possible way, but also in function of the future since he already knows that he will not be reconfirmed at the helm of the Rossa, which has already renewed the agreement with Leclerc and announced the arrival of Lewis Hamilton.
