The words of Sergio Perez after FP2 of the Melbourne GP
.
Friday was complicated for Sergio Perez and Red Bull. The Mexican driver, in fact, struggled more than expected compared to teammate Max Verstappen, who finished both sessions in second place, while the former Racing Point driver finished sixth and eighth, respectively. Despite the difficulties, the 34-year-old South American, at the microphones of "Sky Sport F1", dwelt on the continuation of the weekend and the duel with the Ferraris, which proved to be the fastest in this start of the weekend in Melbourne.
"It was a difficult Friday in general and overall I think we will have some work to do overnight. Melbourne è quite tricky when you switch to the afternoon, because è the visibility è è very poor with the sun low in the face. However, I think the car is at a good point this season and we will have to be strong for tomorrow" began the Red Bull driver.
"We have to put together all the data collected becauseè it will be important to qualify high. The degradation seems quite high in the long runs, we have to keep it under control and it will be interesting to see what will be the best strategy for this weekend" added the Mexican.
"I think Ferrari is strong and seems to be ahead on this circuit. They have been competitive in the long runs. It will beà a very interesting challenge to try to beat them this weekend. They are quite fast here, so it will beà nice to see how we compare with them" concluded Sergio Perez.
