Third career GP win for Spaniard

Sainz triumphed in Melbourne, home of the Australian GP. He did it in a crazy way, making the most of every detail. For the Spaniard, in his last year in Ferrari, it was the third GP win of the season, his first in this World Championship. Not bad for a guy who, a few days ago, è was undergoing emergency surgery for appendicitis. A stellar comeback, worthy of an absolute champion.

"The race è was tough but of course I am very happy and proud of the whole team. I am happy to have won in front of Charles, it shows how much work we have done. Life è really crazy: first the podium in Bahrain, then the’appendicitis, the comeback, this win… è really a roller coaster, but I am overjoyed", his clear words reported by Sky Sports.

Not missing a joke about Verstappen, forced to retire due to brake problems: "Verstappen? On the first lap I realized I could stay behind him and use the DRS, which works very well here. Then he lost time in Turns 2 and 3 and I passed him. Right after that he had brake problems. Too bad, becauseé it would have been a good challenge for first position…. I knew I was going to win from the second lap. I realized we were fast and could manage the tires. Of course there’è always the risk of a red flag or a Safety Car, but the race è went away clean".
