Jannik Sinner crowns Simone Vagnozzi
A few hours before the challenge against Czech Thomas Machac valid for the quarterfinals of the Miami Masters 1000, Jannik Sinner, among the various topics covered in the press conference, wanted to dwell on his growth under the technical guidance of Simone Vagnozzi and Darren Cahill. More in detail, the South Tyrolean tried to identify the main fundamentals in which he è improved thanks to the work with the Ascoli Piceno native.
"From a technical and tactical point of view, Simone Vagnozzi è one of the best coaches in the world. He doesn’t tell you that you have to play a certain way, but he tries to adapt himself to the player. He saw me play and together we changed the backhand technically and I think that is quite a rare thing to see. We confronted each other and found the right way. The same thing è happened with the slice. The best thing about him è he understands my point of view and we always manage to find the best solution to grow and become stronger. And then as a person he è never changed" debuted the South Tyrolean as quoted on "SuperTennis".
"He is following the tournament from home and after each match we talk to each other and he tells me his impressions, what è went well and what went wrong. Sometimes it is good to disconnect a little bit and work exclusively with Darren, I find it very helpful. With Vagnozzi we will pick up from Monte-Carlo" continued the world number three.
In conclusion, Sinner è returned to the difficulties he encountered in his match with O'Connel in the round of 16 of the tournament: "It wasn't an easy match, as thereé was a little wind and we needed some time to get used to it. He used the slice a lot, while I tried to push a lot on the backhand and then try to close with the forehand. It was also complicated mentally, but you have to accept this kind of difficulty and adapt to the conditions".
